Here at Arctic Spas Cymru we are committed to help out as much as possible. We understand the importance of helping those who are less fortunate than us, and over the year we will be hosting events and offering superb deals which coincide with helping a charity or two.
Heini's Kilimanjaro Climb
Arctic Spas Cymru are proud to announce that they will be offering sponsorship to Heini Davies, who will be climbing Kilimanjaro this summer to raise money for the charity Childreach International. The charity is an extremely important one, helping bring education to the most vulnerable children across the globe. As it stands, Childreach International has brought the gift of education to over 40,694 children, which is a heroic amount.
Childreach International states:
“As we grow and develop, Childreach International is increasingly measuring the outcomes of our objectives. Put simply, this means measuring our impact on the children we work with. Through proactively monitoring and evaluating our projects around the world, we are analysing the number of children we're working with, and how we're strengthening their access to healthcare, education, and child rights and protection.”
Take a look below to see how many children they helped in 2010:
- Increased 40,694 children's access to education
- Increased 23,330 children's access to healthcare
- Increased 6,267 children's access to child rights and protection
- Increased 212 children's access to skilled training
- Kept 4,868 more children safe
Heini is a former employee here at Arctic Spas Cymru, and she’s sister to Ffion (marketing and PR) and step daughter to Gareth (Managing Director and Head Technician), which gives us even greater pleasure on getting behind such a fantastic cause. She’s currently studying at St Andrews University, and she’s decided to climb the mammoth Kilimanjaro with dear friend Claire Stewart, who’s also studying in St Andrews University. It’s safe to say that this journey will be an incredible experience for both girls, and the memories they’ll collect will last a lifetime.
The girls will need to raise at least £2,500 each in order to pay for the trip and to donate to the charity. Here at Arctic Spas Cymru we’ve decided to donate a percentage on every hot tub sale we make between now and the summer in order to help Heini not only reach the goal, but to exceed it.

Operation Christmas Child 2011
As Christmas is coming, we've decided to team up with Samaratan's Purse and help out with their amazing Operation Christmas Child campaign. If you've never heard of the scheme before, what happens is people fill a shoebox with goodies for children of all ages can enjoy, and the good people of Samaratan's Purse delivers the gift to children across the globe. This makes such a difference to these children, who barely get anything and live such a hard life in third world or poor countries. Here at Arctic Spas Cymru, we want to make a difference to a few children's lives, and bring a smile to them this Christmas, and here's how you can help us. For every order or in store purchase of over £125 (so everything apart from online shop orders), we will fill another shoebox with £10 worth of gifts and add a £2.50 donation to help the box get to its new owner on your behalf.
For more information, please visit http://www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk/! There's a video on their homepage that will show exactly what these gifts mean to the children.

How We've Done
We are delighted to announce that over the past month, we’ve been able to raise enough money to fill 14 boxes to the brim with goodies for Operation Christmas Child. We are over the moon about being able to make, not 1, but 14 children smile who reside in poor areas. Since I was a young girl making my first box when I was in primary school, the thought of being able to give something simple, like a shoebox full of little treats to a child who currently receives very little, has remained with me ever since. I am delighted that this Christmas a few more children will feel some love and happiness and know that in this harsh world, even some strangers from a distant land care about them. Thank you for enabling us to give generously and bring not one, but fourteen extra smiles to the world this Christmas.
